It's a proven fact, when a Neil Diamond song starts playing everybody — and I mean everybody — sings along. The world's love affair with the music of the legendary singer has led to wild and crazy career for this resident of Lee's Summit. At an early age, Theron Denson was told his singing voice sounded a lot like Diamond, and for the past 22 years he's toured the country entertaining the masses with his tributes as The Black Neil Diamond. Theron dropped by the vault this week to talk about his show's origins, share some stories and preview Saturday's special performance at The Pink Elephant in downtown Lee's Summit.

Yeah, you read that right. Student journalism students from Lee's Summit West recently spent a day at Lee's Summit Town Hall's Bridge Space studio learning about podcasting and interview techniques. In this final episode before Christmas we thought it was a good idea to bring you one of the student interviews with local business owner Dave Eames. In the coming weeks, we'll try and share some of the other student interviews. Here are Lee's Summit West's Hayden Peters and Emily Gerhart.

Once upon a time, Courtney Stoddard wanted to have a pub crawl in her hometown's downtown district. Nine years later, her little Christmas wish has grown into one of the metro's most popular events and has raised more than $100,000 for Hope House. This year, her goal was to add another $30,000 to that tally and she is oh-so-close. Listen in as she joins hosts Nick Parker and Liesl Hays to preview this Saturday's crawl and how you can help reach this goal supporting a vital local nonprofit.

Musician, teacher and all-around good egg, Shawn Harrel joins the show (and brings along some students) talk about an upcoming jazz concert and the work his digital media students are doing in the community. In fact, Nick and Liesl didn't do anything for this show except talk. The episode was recorded at Summit Technology Academy by a team of Harrel's students. Harrel was joined on air by senior students Amya Morgan, Abby Oldham and Jacob Loesch. Student engineers for this episode were Hannah Jones and Alex King. Harrel and the Lee's Summit Jazz Orchestra will perform it's annual holiday concert at 5 p.m. Thursday, December 15 at Bridge Space in downtown Lee's Summit.
