And when you think of burgeoning beer titans, these two brothers may not match the image in your head. And the beer they’re crafting doesn’t follow the same recipes as your favorite brewers, or even those you use in your garage. These are the men behind the gluten free beer brand Bard’s Beer, which will be relaunched across the country in 2019. This is Craig and Scott Belser.

The mid-terms endeth & we start up a conversation on entrepreneurs

Jason and Nick run through the results from Tuesday’s mid-term election before diving into our November series on entrepreneurism in our community. Chuck Cooper, past chair of Velocity Lee’s Summit, joins the duo to talk about the growing number of entrepreneurs in town and how the City and other local organizations are working to support them while also fostering additional growth. Global Entrepreneurship Week begins Monday. Four of the metro area’s events are slated for Lee’s Summit.

Jason and Nick wrap up their breakdown of ballot initiatives before next week’s election. This week, the duo discusses the two proposed amendments and one proposition centered around the legalization of medical marijuana.

Jason and Nick continue their look at the upcoming election this week with a look at how we vote for judges and walk through the field of proposed amendments to the Jackson County Charter. Once again, it’s all about process.

Developing potential

Jason took a vacation this week, but being the hard-working loyal sidekick he is, he took some time to pre-record an interview with representatives from local service organization, Developing Potential, inc. Development director Amy Cox and board member Bob Glaser sat down with Jason and Nick to talk about the services offered to local residents as well as some exciting growth news and how you can help them reach their goals.

They both started as band musicians. Neither planned to become teachers. They are a generation apart and first came together as teacher and student. Both spent a career conducting orchestras in the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District and the Kansas City Youth Symphony. This year, as the Lee’s Summit Symphony opens its 16th season, the two are united yet again — this time as co-conductors. This is Russ Berlin and Kirt Mosier.

As election day approaches, Jason and Nick take some time to look at Amendment 1 and how, if passed, it will effect elections, candidates and elected officials in the future. In our second segment, the duo previews this weekend’s Summit Art Fest with special guests Jody Fristoe, Barbara Neth and Phil Schmidt.
