An entrepreneurial dream takes flight

We're a day late with this week's episode. But we have a good reason. We wanted to record live from a cool new development in town. Wednesday night, Jason and Nick attended the launch party for the new Bridge Space Lee's Summit. The downtown-based entrepreneurial hub and coworking space has been the dream of local business owner Ben Rao for several years. This week, the dream became reality. During the party, the duo grabbed Ben, and some of the guests (including Mayor Bill Baird), to talk about the space and what it could mean for the continued growth of the city.

A light week

This is a light week as we head into the Labor Day weekend. But before we all take advantage of the extra day off, Jason and Nick take a look at one of the discussions from last week's City Council meeting before filling you in on some upcoming local events.

Knock-knock... Housekeeping

Jason and Nick take a look at some of the agenda items from Thursday's City Council meeting, including a proposed ordinance enforcing a sign-in procedure for residents wishing to address the Council and limiting those public comments to three minutes. Also, they consumed more tacos — this time from Sabor Latino Restaurant on Woods Chapel Road.

Information is always good

Jason and Nick congratulate the City on its newest effort to pass information from the City Council on to residents and take a look at Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation's newest piece of real estate. Oh, and in a surprising turn of events, the guys ate tacos again.

The results are in

Jason and Nick stayed up last night to bring you the results from Tuesday's primary and state-wide elections. And the Taco Review Board is back. This week, a trio of tacos from La Fuente on Douglas Street. Are you the proprietor of a local restaurant? Does your business make tacos? It's primary time

Nick and Jason take a quick look at next week's primary elections, highlighting a few races and issues capturing their attention.

She was a business teacher, a grant writer, a district administrator and a principal. She spent more than 30 years inside the Lee's Summit R-7 School District before retiring after the 2017-2018 school year. Her retirement did not last long. Today, she is the new executive director of the Lee's Summit-based Pro Deo Youth Center. This is Elaine Metcalf.

Pearl Tavern has tacos?!?!

The Wonder Twin powers of Andy Lock and Domhall Malloy seem to have struck again. This time in form of a new seafood restaurant in the Summit Woods Crossing shopping area. Jason and Nick discuss their first foray into the menu before the promised return of our Taco Review Board. This week, we hit Stuey McBrew's Taco Tuesday specials. In actual news, the duo discuses recent conceptual incentive request presentations to the Lee's Summit City Council. While no formal requests have been made, this is a good opportunity for the public to learn about proposed developments as well as gauge the Council's appetite for the use of incentives in these particular projects.
